Why We Built This Site
New York records are not kept in one all-purpose public database. The Delaware County Sheriff holds its own incident, booking, custody, and warrant-related material, while the court that heard a case keeps its docket and disposition. DCJS maintains the state repository but limits personal record review to fingerprint-based requests through IdentoGO. eCourts WebCriminal covers certain pending court matters, DOCCS supplies state custody information, and the New York State Sex Offender Registry has its own public search. This site brings the verified routes, contact details, and request steps together while keeping those boundaries clear.
What You Will Find Here
- Official source directions: where to reach the Delaware County Sheriff, County Clerk, local courts, and statewide record systems
- Record guides: how Delaware County court case records can be located and understood
- Personal review steps: how a person requests their own DCJS record through an IdentoGO fingerprint appointment
- Record sealing information: which New York court receives a request and why sealing is not the same as changing every source at once
What We Cannot Do
This is a privately run reference site, not an office of Delaware County or New York State. It has no connection to a court, sheriff, police department, DCJS, or other government agency. Those limits mean:
- We cannot provide certified court papers, rap sheets, or official criminal records
- We cannot submit record sealing applications, FOIL requests, or other filings for a visitor
- We cannot run an official background check or retrieve another person's DCJS record
- We cannot give legal advice or explain how a specific charge or case applies to you
- We cannot guarantee that every phone number, fee, or address listed on this site is current right now
An official copy must come from the office that maintains it, such as the Delaware County Sheriff, the proper court clerk, DCJS, DOCCS, or the New York State Sex Offender Registry.
Search Partners
Outside providers power search boxes that appear on some pages. Each provider controls its own results, terms, and prices. A paid signup reached through one of those tools may produce a referral fee for this site, which supports public access to the guides. Delaware County Criminal History does not set the provider's charges or determine which records appear.
